Many people construct their sites using the online website builders that come with many hosting packages. This is risky, because if the hosting company has a problem, you may lose all of your work. However, if you have your own website builder on your PC, your hosting company's disaster will just be an inconvenience. All you then have to do is take a hosting account with another company and upload your site to them. So, w hether you're an individual who wants to create a site for your own interests or an internet marketer looking to create commercial sites, these are the website builders that I recommend:
SEO is probably the hottest topic in the never-ending debates about monetizing a website and has spurned a massive industry with ebooks, cutting edge software & membership sites. I think you'll find my take on SEO a little different to most and I concentrate on two areas in particular:

A brief introduction to some of the various forms of online advertsing, in particular, pay-per-click advertising and Google Adwords. Adsense is a contextual classified ads system which Google provides for webmasters, an offshoot of their successful Google Adwords (see Online Advertising, above). All the participating webmaster has to do is to cut and paste the relevant javascript, marked with his Google ID, into his site's HTML sourcecode and if a site visitor clicks on an ad, the webmaster earns a commission. Tweaking Adsense and knowing the tricks of the trade has created a small industry of Niche Marketers who have learned the tricks of the trade. Internet marketing really covers all commercial applications of the web, whether you're using your website as an adjunct to your real-world business or creating a specific online presence. Here are my thoughts on several types of the latter option:
A Cautionary Tale For Webmasters: A friend of mine who spent months creating an internet marketing site, doing everything right, writing articles etc. Unfortunately he was recently targeted by hackers (competitors?), who inserted links to ADULT XXX sites to his homepage. The result: His site disappeared from the top of the search engine rankings. The remedy: He cleaned up the code, wrote to Google and explained the situation, changed his website hosting password (and continues to do so regularly) and now uploads his site every day, ensuring that the HTML is his code only. He has now regained his positions. Important Development: This SPAM site hacking has now become a far more serious problem, with Google search results now displaying: "this website may be harmful to your computer" ...if your site has been infected, a warning which obviously destroys your traffic by giving searchers a very clear reason to not enter your site. From a web-searcher point of view, if your site is infected, the trojans seem to enter via IE, but Mozilla users are safe for now.
