Direct Marketing

 

 

Direct marketing can take a number of forms. It can be:

  • interesting with a subtle call to action
  • persuasive
  • intimidatory or
  • downright untrue

...and I'm pretty sure that you've encountered all the variations whether:

  • you've been watching TV
  • ordered an infomercial product at 3.47 a.m. (when your circadian rhythm is out of kilter and your resistance is at its lowest)
  • reading junk mail or newspaper inserts
  • called a toll-free number or
  • been spammed with Viagra ads

As you can see, direct marketing is a massive global enterprise but this part of the site will only concern itself with direct marketing from an internet marketing perspective & ignore SPAM marketing entirely. With those as the two parameters, I can concentrate upon what I consider Direct Marketing, selling through a call to action. 

Internet marketing has had a number of highly successful direct marketing stars but there is one that rise aboves the rest:

 

Marlon Sanders

The very basis of internet marketing is in the end, to make a sale, to take a customer who's saying "Maybe..." into one who says:

 "Thanks!"

In order to do that you've got to have a great product, quick delivery, customer support but given that there are lots of great products around, the single most important part of the process is your sales letter, your commercial for your product.
