Build A Niche Store
Build A Niche Store is one of those delightful products that plops into your cyber-lap every so often, which you know is great, because it services a need...and very few people seem interested in it. I guess it could be the price tag, a whopping $97 but everything is pretty good from there.
Basically, Build A Niche Store is a complete site spontaneously created from eBay's RSS feeds for whatever keyword you want. Of course, if you:
-
-
construct the pages with SEO in mind
-
...your niche site will have a much better chance of becoming profitable. On the other hand, if the niche is obscure enough e.g. bonsai growing for Mongolian left-handers you may score search engine traffic straight away if you're lucky.
Another approach is to integrate Build A Niche Store into an already functioning niche site. Take a look at Attract Wild Birds.com and you'll see Build A Niche Store links in the right hand column...and the site has the whole of eBay's listings as its product. Nice!
There are two affiliate commissions at stake, as well:
Now, I have to inform you, you can already do this FOR FREE via eBay's RSS feed (it's a little bit fiddly but certainly not difficult)...so why would you want to pay a hefty price for Build A Niche Store?
Well, it's the extras that make it so good!
1 The pages that Build A Niche Store creates are SEO-friendly, meaning that though the content is changing RSS, the "shell" is recognized by the search engines. Consequently, you can "improve" the page rank of every page (i.e its importance to the search engines) over time, each page can attract search engine traffic of its own accord.
2 ln making it SEO-friendly, you can add:
...just like any web pages and thereby monetize them. Think of the mechanics. Suppose your site has 20 pages and Build A Niche Store creates 200 pages, in theory, those extra 200 pages will be creating you further income. If you develop their page rank, that page rank will pass on to your main site.
3 If you don't have a site of your own but are prepared to spend a bit of time or money, you can have a superb-looking site like Theatre Tickets which sells theatr tickets to shows in London. You may notice that they've also included an affiliate link for London hotel accomodation and additionally, there are Adsense blocks on all the internal pages.
Incidentally, if you know nothing (or little) about website building, it might be worthwhile looking at Site Build It! or have it created for you by created by a freelancer through Elance.
Build A Niche Store has an owners-only forum that appears to be thriving, so check it out.

Build A Niche Store Q & A
Incidentally here's a great Q & A thread from the webmasters' forum, Digitalpoint, in which Build A Niche Store's owner, Kelvin, goes into some detail about his eBay site-building software.
In particular, there's some excellent INFO on whether you can expect search engine traffic:
"...If you are building a standalone affiliate store on a brand new domain then it is the competitiveness of the niche that you are targeting which will initially affect your rankings. You also have the indexing cycles of the search engines to contend with and their scepticism of new sites in general but this is the same for any new site that you build.
In under competitive niches you will get rankings much more quickly as there is "space" for your affiliate store. In more competitive markets then both link building and adding preselling content around your store to consolidate and extend your keyword reach will be necessary. The degree to which this is necessary will correlate exactly to the competitiveness of the niche that you are targeting. |
