Some Brief Thoughts On Adult Website Hosting

Contrary to popular belief, it appears that many hosting companies are fine about hosting Adult websites, as long as the site stays with the laws of the country...and you just have to verify that with the individual hosting company. They'll also probably insist that your opening page states that your site has Adult content and requires a legal verification of age etc.  

However, the Adult industry forums make it quite clear that serious Adult industry webmasters function predominantly on virtual or dedicated hosting, upgrading as soon as possible for all the reasons given on that page. 

In particular, because of the very nature of their "products" there's a high bandwith usage and the problem of users direct linking to images &/or video. An experienced Adult web hosting company will assist you in overcoming this constant problem, whereas a normal web hosting company won't.

I guess that it's like any kind of business, if it's low-key, you can cut some corners, if it gets serious, you should have everything in order and a virtual dedicated server looks imperative. The Adult web hosting forums recommended:
